Is it necessary to move to Los Angeles to be an actor working?
I want to be in TV commercials Soap and an Extra. Moving to LA seems to be the place and time would be warmer than San Francisco. I am 40 years old. And confident to start my acting career! I have a class in quality and continue my drama class and education. I stay in California! I was hoping to get advice whether to say in SF Southbay or move to Los Angeles! Thank you! The answer is no. One huge misconception that to be an actor working you have to live in Los Angeles and / or New York. They are hubs entertainmnet big, yes, but they are not together edn. In fact, I KNO WOF actor who lives in Atlanta who is full time and do movies, television and commercials. There are many films which turned regional. Canada is a perfect example of a place outside of Los Angeles who has a film industry thrivng. North Carolina has a film studio where tons of movies and television have been filmed. If you want to advertise, you should seek an agent in your area. LA is a large pond, and competititon more.
